About Bank on Main, Boutique Bed & Breakfast

Rutherglen's only Main Street Traditional Bed & Breakfast.

Located in the centre of town this two storey commercial building was the town's Bank of Australasia. The building was constructed in 1899 and opened for business in January 1900.

Since closing as a bank a tasteful conversion has taken place to provide luxury bed and breakfast accommodation.

Entry is by the side gate and breezeway which was the original street entrance to the Manager's residence, or direct into our car park from the Murray Street entrance. The building has an imposing banking chamber with 14 ft ceilings, log fire, ceiling roses and polished floor boards and is currently used as the guest lounge and dining room.

The original walk in-vault is still part of this impressive room.
